Executive Director
Daniel Shorr
Atlanta-native, Daniel Shorr graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2008. Over 2008 - 2009, he conducted cross-cultural research via a Fulbright Fellowship at Kyoto University. While there he collaborated with international researchers, taught English to children, and was active in his adopted community. He continues to support the mission of international understanding, now serving on the GA Fulbright Alumni Association board.
Driven by a deep desire to help in creating a better world, he has been a committed servant leader through the Kiwanis family of community service organizations, and was the 2011 - 2012 President of the Northside club. Some of his core passions are inter-religious, inter-cultural dialogue, human rights, and aiding the refugee community of Atlanta.
Currently working for the United Way of Greater Atlanta as DeKalb Opportunity Zone Coordinator, Daniel coordinates high-level leadership between NGOs and governmental agencies around issues of health, education, income, and civic engagement, affording him valuable insight into diverse operations.
A deeply touched beneficiary of the teen programs of the former GA office of the National Conference for Communities and Justice, since late 2010 his passion has been leading alumni and supporters to recreate, and now grow, a new incarnation of the organization: Building UnDerStanding (BUDS)
